Mothers are said to be the most powerful consumers of all time, that’s according to market researches and studies. That is why many big businesses of today are taking the opportunity to recognize the decision-making power of mothers as far as buying is concerned, appreciate the time they put into selecting a product or a service, and understand what affects a Mom’s purchasing behavior.

Every once in a while, this Blog will solicit among Mommy Bloggers of their latest product finds, consumer product reviews or simply just about anything that has to do with the Mother’s buying adventures and misadventures.  We wouldn’t want to be fooled by false marketing gimmicks and caught unaware of the consequences we’re about to face after pouring hard-earned money into a product or service, don’t we?

By sharing each others’ rich purchasing experiences, we Moms empower one another to be wiser, more clever and a more meticulous consumer.

My son have become a very picky eater lately.  And though he’s still within the normal weight range for his age, I can’t help but worry he’s not getting balanced nutrition.  That is why when he failed to eat well during major meals, I always insist he eats a healthy snack in between meals.

A healthy snack that works for my son is cereals, Nestle’s Honey Stars to be more specific. A 20-gram pack of this cereal mixed with a little of fresh milk is just as enough to fill his hungry tummy.  Nico never fails to finish a small bowl every time he is served this snack, making me one happy Mommy.

But that’s not just what I love about Honey Stars and some selected Nestle products. I love it too that many of Nestle’s products already bear the Halal seal. Read the rest of this entry »

I was jumping in joy at one night Nico drank his glass of milk straight without any sign of resistance.  I thought I can already say: Thank goodness, finally! Not too fast. I think I spoke too soon.  That was just one of those very rare days the Little Boy does that.

He simply is testing my patience, making the drinking of milk from a glass an ordeal.  Hay, susme! My acne breakouts are increasing by the day just convincing him to drink from a glass.  And I told myself, this can’t be happening forever, or I’ll give up.  I was kinda desperate and even considered getting back to the bottle. What silly idea! But that’s because I’ve tried anything and every trick there is to make the drinking session a little harmonious but I haven’t had any luck yet.  Until one fine weekend, my Little Boy was watching his fave shows on Nick, I saw this advertisement where it was shown the kids are enjoying their milk with the use of a special straw—the Sippah straw, the fun way to drink milk!

I stored in mind what it looked like and promised myself I’ll go look for it when we do the groceries.  And I was successful in finding the product. It was located in the racks near the growing milk products. To my excitement, I didn’t looked at the nutritional facts, and gave it a go.  I bought a couple of boxes, (the chocolate flavored one) and immediately by the minute we’re home, I tried it with Nico.  And the result: Read the rest of this entry »

About this blog

Welcome to The Meticulous Mommy! My name is Feng, trying hard to be a Meticulous Mommy. :) This is my second home next to my personal blog----From Dawn Till Dusk. My experiences to trying as many products and services as far as my Little Boy Nico is concerned was the main reason for creating this Blog. As a Mom, I only want the best for my son. And it pays to be meticulous enough to know most aspects, if not all, or the littlest of details of anything I provide my son, before taking the plunge of spending. It helps that the rich experiences I encountered and learned from the organization I've been working for over 10 years, allowed me to be more conscious on what I purchase and vigilant enough to fight for my rights as a consumer. ;) More about me? • AFTER SEEING THE TWO RED LINES… November 4, 2008
Hello, hello.   I know, I’ve been offline for the past weeks without much advance notice.  What happened to me? Fact is, I am very sick and on complete bedrest, yet I am happy.  I’ve been tired and exhausted vomiting and experiencing nausea most of the day (and night) but is much excited about the coming months. [...]
  • THE STORY BEHIND THE TRAJES TIPICO AND PAELLA VALENCIANA October 13, 2008
The United Nations’ Day celebration in Nico’s school will be this coming Friday but as of this writing, I haven’t had in my hands the appropriate costume for the Little Boy just yet.  Nico is expected to wear Trajes Tipico, the national costume of Spain, the country he reported on last Thursday.  Added to that, [...]
  • THE HUSH-HUSH, RUSH-RUSH SOFA SET PURCHASE October 9, 2008
My Sis, SIL and I, together with our kids made a short trip to the Mall last Saturday afternoon.  It was kinda hush-hush, rush-rush because Mom asked us to go and look for a sofa set for her still bare Lanai cum mini garden. She’s at a panic mode for so many weeks now and [...]
  • I WANT MY YAYA October 7, 2008
I Want My Yaya is a mini story book I bought for Nico during our short trip to the Mall last Saturday. From the words of the author Annette Flores Garcia, “the book explores the warm and sometimes wacky in and outs of life with and without a yaya. It also celebrates a child’s first [...]
  • OF DOG BREEDS AND THOUGHTS ON OWNING A PET PUPPY October 6, 2008
Last Saturday, we did some early morning jog and walk at Frontera Verde.  It was a very unusual family activity that we ever did as admittedly, we are just darn lazy bummers during weekends.  One thing though that motivated us to jog along Frontera Verde is our plan to buy a pet puppy for Nico.  [...]
